The Joker by JoeRuff The Joker by JoeRuff
I wanted to do a painting that showed how cool the Joker from the comics could look. I love the Heath Ledger's version as much as everyone else, but I was getting a little tired of seeing it everywhere.

the joker is the most handsome supervillian and the most funny clown prince of crime ever in the DC universe and he is certainly a better dresser.

and he's got some style and more brains.

he is the one right dude for his one right harlequin babe.

love this pic

Hey

I really liked this picture you drew.
It's amazing.

I actually used it for my band profile picture.
if you want me to take it off i will. I just thought it was amazing.

Um I was wondering if you could design something for my band.
If not that's cool.

well good job man, and keep it up!

thanks

Wow! I really like this- the shadows, the face, etc. I'm always more of a fan of the traditional comic book Joker and people's different interpretations of it.

As much as I love Heath Ledger's Joker, I will always love the Joker from the comic books. Good job on the painting, I love his facial expression!

This is and always will be the true Joker look in my opinion. Nolan's Joker worked for that story and, as much as I LOVE both TDK and Ledger's acting, it would've been even cooler if Joker had looked like this. ^_^ But that's a minor complaint, hardly worth the time it takes to type it.

Great work on this. He looks so suave. ... Looks are deceiving!

I think they caught the spirit of the Joker dead on. He was both hilarious and terrifying all the time he was on screen. As far as his look in the comics goes, i just wish more artists would draw him with black around his eyes.
I think that's the number one way to make him look cool, and the animated series was doing it way before the Dark Knight came out.

When you don't like a piece do you just write, "no?"

The signature adds an extra bit of 'oomph' to this piece. A lot of people slap a signature on but not often does it become a part of the piece. I also love how much the hair pops. Nice piece Joe!

Very nice! The Joker is so versatile, you can do a number of things with him. As this portrait shows, he doesn't always have to be laughing!

I also know what you mean about the Ledger Joker being everywhere. It was great for the film, but I'm getting tired of seeing it everywhere, as well.

I really wonder what they'll do for the next film. I can't imagine any other villain being as interesting as The Joker.

You're welcome!

And I'm sure they can top themselves whether or not they use The Joker. Batman has such a great rogues gallery.

I'm personally crossing my fingers for Black Mask, The Riddler, Bane (a version true to the comics, this time), and/or Catwoman. I can see more than one villain being used. With the state of the mob at the end of the last film, it's a good time for all of the "freaks" to start crawling out of the woodwork.

Yeah, ya know what, the more I think of it Bane could be cool. Joker was a real psychological villain, so it would be cool if the next guy was just about brute strength.
